Federer had a rocky start at Wimbledon, but he is now back to playing some of his best tennis as he took out Jurgen Melzer in the fourth round on Monday. He has now won back-to-back straight set matches, which should give him a lot of confidence going into his quarter-final match against Tomas Berdych. Novak Djokovic took down former No.1 Lleyton Hewitt today, however Andy Roddick was not so fortunate. The American was upset by Yen-Hsun Lu 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-6(5), 7-9 in the fourth round. Roddick was down two sets to one, but was able to take the fourth set in a tie-breaker. It seemed as though he was in the clear as being a top player would give him the advantage in the fifth set, but could not break the 26-year-old from Chinese Taipei. Sam Querrey played a very good tournament but fell to British star, Andy Murray in straight sets. Murray will now face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-final, as the Frenchman beat countryman, Julien Benneteau in four sets. David Ferrer put up a good fight against Robin Soderling, but the Swede took control of the fifth set and won 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. Soderling will now face Rafael Nadal in the next round as Nadal ousted Paul-Henri Mathieu, a player who has done very well at this Wimbledon event. In the women's draw, top-seeded Serena Williams edged out Maria Sharapova in a close two sets, 7-6 (9), 6-4 and she will now go up against China's Na Li. Two big names left the All England Lawn Tennis Club on Monday as Caroline Wozniaki was knocked out by Petra Kvitova and Jelena Jankovic was forced to retire her match due to a back injury. Venus Williams now dominates the bottom half of the draw alongside Kim Clijsters who defeated fellow Belgium Justine Henin in three-sets. Monday at Wimbledon is considered one of the best days on the tennis calendar as all of the top seeds take to the court. Some of the matchups mirrored Grand Slam finals of the past. The beginning of Week Two started as crazy as Week One ended.
