Only six days to go before Rogers Cup presented by National Bank! Today, we’re shining the spotlight on world no. 6 Caroline Garcia.
The Frenchwoman has been carrying the momentum from her outstanding 2017 season, which culminated with her first appearance at the WTA Finals in Singapore, into 2018. After reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time, the 24-year-old was a quarter-finalist in Doha and Dubai, falling to Garbiñe Muguruza both times. Leading up to Roland-Garros, Garcia was a semifinalist on the clay in Stuttgart and Madrid before reaching the final eight in Rome. She then advanced to the Round of 16 in front of her home fans in Paris at the French Open.
What does Garcia have in store for us in Montreal? We shall see. Last year, she reached the quarter-finals in Toronto thanks to victories over Sorana Cirstea, Varvara Lepchenko, and Catherine Bellis.
