Things you can do off the court at this year’s events
If you’re a Rogers Cup and/or Coupe Rogers veteran then we don’t have to tell you that even if you’re not the biggest fan of tennis, there’s still plenty to keep you busy when you’re not perched court-side. (Are there really people out there that don’t like tennis? Nah, we didn’t think so either!) For those that are first-timers attending Canada’s favourite ATP and WTA tournaments, then here’s a round-up of what you can expect to experience on the grounds beyond the courts:
Shop: That’s right! You can shop! Packed with fun, fresh, and affordable merchandise, we dare you to try and leave empty-handed!
Eat: Prepare to experience more than just strawberries and cream! From walk-and-talk options like burgers, hot dogs and pizza to full-on fine dining and liquor licensed venues, come with an empty stomach and leave fully satisfied.
Listen: So your friend is on the fence about coming because they aren’t a diehard tennis fan? Easily twist their arm by selling it as a great place to catch some awesome local music acts. With live music in-between the day and evening sessions throughout the week, who knows, you may be able to kill two birds with one stone and catch your favourite artist and your favourite tennis pro all in one day![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”32px”][vc_single_image image=”4534″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Watch: An off-court show-stopper and your chance to earn some Instagram cred, we highly suggest taking a knee at the promotional court for a local celebrity match-up! Or, if you’re tennis’d out and feel like some cross-sport amusement, check out the ongoing ball hockey tournament between pro hockey players and ATP/WTA players.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”32px”][vc_single_image image=”4535″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Play: After watching a match, it’s impossible not to think that through osmosis your game has improved. Keep tabs on your progress by testing your serve speed throughout the tournament in the serve cage. Even sweeter, the cage offers a chance to win some pretty cool prizes.
Meet: Get your Sharpie out! There’s a good chance on your walk around the grounds you’re going to catch an ATP/WTA player ready and willing to sign some swag. If you show up empty-handed, don’t fret. Revisit our first point: shop![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”32px”][vc_single_image image=”4538″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Tickets for both Rogers Cup and Coupe Rogers are still available – see you there![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
